David Cierco
With a career spanning more than twenty years, he has gained extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, concentrating on digital technologies and the advancement of the information society. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid and a diploma in Economic Studies from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom. His academic background is further complemented by three master’s degrees: in Finance from ICADE, in Economic Analysis and Regulated Sectors from the Complutense University of Madrid, and in Internet Business from ISDI.
In the public sector, he has held significant positions, notably serving as an advisor on New Technologies at the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Trade (2004-2006) and as Chief executive officer for the Development of the Information Society in the same ministry (2006-2010). During his tenure, he led the implementation of the Plan Avanza, managing an investment of €5 billion, which was recognized by the OECD as one of the most successful strategies for digital transformation. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Civil Order of Merit for Telecommunications and the Information Society in 2012. Later, he was appointed Chief executive officer of Red.es (2018-2021), also serving as a board member of the Mobile World Congress Foundation and Vice President of the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE).
In the private sector, he has held executive positions in various companies, including serving as CEO of TRYP DIGITAL S.L. (2017-2018) and Executive Director of Emoción Digital (2013-2017). His professional experience also extends to international investments, electronic banking, and strategic consulting in the financial and technological sectors.
In February 2024, he joined H/Advisors as Director of its Madrid office, bringing his expertise in technology and economics to the team. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the digital society and driving technological modernization in Spain.
